HORSHAM, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 2003
NextGen Healthcare Information Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:QSII), today announced that one of its customers, Southeast Texas Medical Associates LLP (SETMA), was named "Microsoft Clinic of the Year" by Microsoft and Microsoft Healthcare Users Group (MS-HUG).
Since 1998, SETMA has used the NextGen EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and NextGen EPM (Enterprise Practice Management) applications, utilizing the Microsoft platform, to computerize and advance patient care and service--both inside and outside the exam room. As a result, the medical practice has enhanced its ability to deliver the highest quality care while simultaneously improving overall operational efficiencies.
The Microsoft Clinic of the Year Award is one category of Microsoft's annual "User of the Year" awards program, which recognizes the most innovative healthcare organizations that are improving their operations through the effective deployment and utilization of Microsoft(R)-based solutions. Winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges and were announced at the Microsoft booth at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in San Diego on Tuesday, Feb. 11th.
